The ICT Connection portal is set up to provide the direction at the start of Singapore's third Masterplan for ICT in Education journey (mp3), and will be a common reference point for different stakeholders. It aims to:

1. Be a channel to communicate mp3 goals and information
It will provide clarification and illustration on the multifaceted concepts of mp3 to enable shared understanding and the pursuit of a common goal. This communication process is critical to the success of mp3 as it makes possible coherence in the policies and practices of the different stakeholders.

2. Facilitate dialogue on mp3’s strategic intent
The ICT Connection is a platform that facilitates the translation of mp3 ideals into actual practices. Through it, educators can collaborate and tap on one another’s experience and expertise. The dynamic and online nature also allows easy and timely access.

3. Illustrate meaningful use of ICT in education
The ICT Connection harvests best examples of the use of ICT that takes place in schools, including those that are based on Self-directed Learning (SDL) and Collaborative Learning (CoL). It aims to build up a repertoire of ICT tools and skills that can be used for classroom teaching. These demonstrate and enable the integration of ICT in curriculum, and could eventually lead to transformed pedagogical philosophy and practices.
